2009 was a tough year but we came through. Many thanks to all our clients, our brides at whose events I was part of. To my photographer colleagues who let me work with them and to Fox radio for running some commercials on fox radio 96.7 . That was cool.
Here's a photo of a really cool place, Montage Mountain, just across the hill from Scranton.. It's great for an afternoon off, movies and dinnner.
When Kerry first viewed my work on line, she really liked one of my highlight reels which had voice over. I do offer a unique approach..to interview selected family and friends the day prior. The voice over is used throughout the highlight piece of the video.
It really personalizes the wedding video.
So Kerry & Chris thanks for trusting me and inviting me to be part of a very special day. To others, let us show you how we can make your video very special.
Wedding Highlights Samantha & Craig.. What a beautiful setting for a wedding. North shore of Long Island at the Muttontown Club. The entire day was at one location. Thank you for inviting me, enjoyed being part of your day
A beautiful fall day,, we started at the house and then went over to the Wainwright House in Rye, NY. Family fotos, Diane and Richard decided to see each other before the ceremony.
A windy day but filled with sunshine, outdoor ceremony and dancing to the Hank Lane band.
An awesome day. Thanks everyone Photography by Frank Farina Videography Knowles Multimedia
Wedding Highlights. Kerry and Chris. I met their family day prior to their wedding, since we were going to use voice over on their video. That's to follow! Its was great meeting everyone.
Their wedding day was superb, from getting ready, church to the fun fotos at the park, we ended up at the View in Piermont for the great reception.. The brides sister, showed a wonderful foto montage
Wonderful weather with friends and family, some came from overseas, we were able to get some great shots at new rochelle park, even one that resembled abbey road.
Enjoy the clip, thanks for inviting me Reception, the new Surf Club, new rochelle, ny
My sister Alison had her 50th birthday party at The Crane, Barbados. She and her husband, Steve, live in Barbados.
In fact, it was a wonderful place to host her party. Our family, the Knowles's and the Mannings, on my dad's side, have been on the island for many generations.
I could not be there since I was shooting a wedding here in New York. Dad passed a few years ago, but it would have been his kind of party. Mom was there, she even got to do some dancing.
So, if you have an event, send us your fotos and we can put together a great foto montage or we can also shoot it for you.
After weeks of wet weather, mother nature granted us a reprieve for Samantha and Adams' wedding. Surrounded by family and friends, the grounds at the brides farm home were spectacular. Thanks to everyone We even had the band, Alive N Kickin.. who sang their number 1 hit, Tighter & Tighter! alive-n-kickin.com Photography byAn Eye For Details. aneyefordetails.com video knowles multimeida knowlesvideo.us
Cruzin Cars....Port Jervis, NY It seemed that we were in a different era as we watched cars from yesteryear cruise down Front St one balmy september late afternoon in Port Jervis, NY. Fords, Chevy Bel Airs, Cadillacs, and a few custom hot rods. They were all here. For awhile it was fun being transported back to a time when you had to listen to tune the engine and change gears with a stick! Enjoy the show Robert Knowles Multimedia
If you were to visit Milford, Pa, now through October 16-18 you would find, apart from this wonderful town, nestled on the bank of the Delaware, fine restaurants, charming bed and breakfasts, country inns; you would also find statues of painted bears. Decorated by artists and sponsored by local businesses, these painted bears have become part of a treasure trove of activities during these weeks leading up to the film festival. So come to Milford, and when you get here, you know, its' where Pa meets NY and NJ, try to find those bears.. if not, watch this movie!! Enjoy Robert/Knowles Multimedia
Jaime and Jeremy saw my work on line and through Rob Lettieri invited me to be part of their day.
We began at the brides home, filled with her sisters, Mom and nieces, it was a full house.
Ceremony was at the beautiful St Nicholas Church where Msgr Ruascher told the story of how the couple met when they were 6 years old on a school outing!!! Many years later, Jeremy asked her out.
Reception was held at the Newberry Estates in Dallas, Pa.. An old private home now used exclusively for events. Just fabulous.
Thanks again for inviting me. Enjoyed being part of it all.
They "kicked their video up a notch".... Scheduled audio interviews the day prior with select family members..so I spent an overnight, got to meet all family members.. It was really great to have been part of their day...We then used selected sound bites over their recap.. Very cool..
Fabulous weekend weather over the July 4th weekend.
In February, I received a note from the UK, from my school, asking if any alumni living in the States would like to attend the first gathering to be held in the US, in Washington, DC
Some came from British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Boston, faculty from the UK and my wife and I drove down from Milford, Pa. About 20 of us attended.
Not all were from my class, many were from earlier years, but it didn't seem to matter, it was fascinating to hear what we had all accomplished.
We tacked a few extra days on so that I, who had never really explored DC could get a glimpse of this city.
There were so many highlights. For me, a Brit who has lived in the US for 30 years, the tour of the Capital was amazing.
We were also so privileged to have had a guided personal tour of "The Written in Bone" exhibition by world renown forensic anthropologist, Douglas Owsley, and for those who are "CSI's", that was awesome.
Lastly, an evening, hosted by our stateside chapter president, at a Virginia farmhouse. Thank you all for making this possible.
July 3rd/4th .. I have really become accustomed in celebrating the 4th, after all its my sister's birthday, and since I have been here from many years, the holiday is one to celebrate.
So when I was asked to videotape Melissa and George's wedding, no problem.. A special weekend, the day before, I was to interview them both along with parents, best man and maid of honor, so it meant an overnight.
July 4th finally gave us a beautiful day, slight breeze, outdoor ceremony and fun reception.
The entire even was held in Bayville, NY at the Crescent Beach
This clip is one that I put together that showed the couple just before the ceremony.
Enjoy everyone, much more to follow.. Thanks again
I grew up with Kodachrome. As a young lad living overseas, shooting color slide film was a treat. It was my dad's favourite film, and I remember him using it sparingly and then sending it off to Kodak, Hemel Hempstead, UK.
Two weeks would go by and then almost forgetting about it, it would arrive. That night we would set up the projector and watch the carousel clunk through 36 slides.
My first SLR camera, a Pentax Spotmatic, had semi automatic metering, you had to match needle for exposure.
Most of my meagre earnings would be gone on two rolls of Kodachrome, processing was prepaid, since you had to buy the mailer and likewise, I had to wait two weeks for results.
In later years, I still used Kodachrome, and I used to buy a " brick" of it at one time... 20 rolls.
On corporate assignments in New York, we would drop off the film at a local lab and pay rush for early morning delivery, from the Kodak Lab in Fairlawn, NJ. It was only later that a well known lab met the specs for processing Kodachrome in New York.
Now we are all in the digital mode but for many of us, Kodachrome was the slide film of choice.
There was a moment in the day when Karissa's Dad said it all, Karissa uplifted us all with her smile and attitude and the rest of us just followed... because in fact, we had waterfall rain the entire day...
Once we started to shoot, we captured some amazing images, thanks in part to Karissa & Ken, their family and friends....Her mom for making all those wonderful table decoration bottles..
Your vows were so wonderful, the video vignette I hope, captures the sparkle of your day.

Last year I was invited by Shannon's sister , Allyson to videotape her wedding. The entire reception was outside.. This year, the family invited me back to videotape Shannons' wedding. Blessed with friends and family and as an added bonus, wonderful weather, Shannon and Thomas' wedding ceremony was outside!.
Thank you all for inviting me again. really enjoyed it all.
Robert...We just want to thank you for capturing the essence of us on our wedding day. It is coming up on a year and I can't tell you how many times we've watched our film, each time seeming like the first. I still cry when you got me dancing with my dad and Matt still laughs at the expression on my face when he presented a surprise ring at the altar. You got it all!! We thank you for that and we look forward to fifty years from now when we we watch your video and fall in love all over again!
When I found out that the NJVA was inviting Mike Downey from Grass Valley to speak about Edius, and Alex & Julie Hill from Elysium productions in California, I just had to go.. Took the afternoon off.
Vendors.. JVC, Anton Bauer, Grass Valley, Al-Art and Armatos were there to show us all the new toys.
About 80 of us attended, All in all a wonderful event. Thank you all, the board members of LIVA and NJVA for pulling it all together and thanks to the speakers/vendors for being a part of it all
Always a special place.. Born in Barbados, and as a youngster growing up, the Crane beach was often a place where we would spend a sunday afternoon with family and friends.
Access to the beach then was by way of a rickety wooden stairway down the side of the cliff!!
Today the Crane has morphed into a wonderful array of pools, new homes and restaurants. Now, there is The Village, a unique blend of stores and restaurants. These shots taken a few months before opening.
The beach, and the sea, though is and will always be The Crane.
Almost one year later, the video you created of our wedding day has proven more special than you can imagine. Over the holidays, our family on the east coast watched our video to feel like we were all together again even when Will and I halfway across the world.
And now with Will away on deployments, I can experience our wedding day again and feel like he is close even when we are so far apart.
It has been so important to us over the months. I can't describe how happy it makes us to relive that day you captured so perfectly.
Thank you for giving our family this true keepsake.
60 years ago, Eva, S... had her wedding filmed on 8mm film.. Much of the film had been damaged but we were able to salvage a few precious seconds of it.....She had learnt that I transferred films...8mm/super8, (w/wo sound)/16mm to video, (w/wo sound).
A week later, as she viewed the clip from a dvd which I made, she began to cry.....she and her cousin are the few remaining from that wonderful day.
The moment was priceless....
Apart from the wedding footage, her husband had recorded many years of family functions .. Over 2500ft... and we were able to transfer it all to a dvd with music and chapters.. Very cool...
How do we do this...(for the techs)
Many years ago, I purchased Elmo transvideo projectors which were made to convert film (24fps) to video(30fps)...29.9. The video outputs directly to my mac onto final cut through a canopus video pass through.
There is no flicker because of the unique 5 bladed shutter, and the captured original footage remains pristine.
First wedding of the year and many thanks to such a really wonderful couple.
Many thanks for inviting me. Really enjoyed being part of the celebrations We missed the storm by a day and your flight was delayed by a few days but at least you'll get to watch this on your honeymoon.. Ceremony at the newly renovated St Barnabas Church on Maclean avenue, Reception and fotos were taken at Lake Isle club
They say that whenever you return from Barbados, you
always bring back a piece of the island back with you.
For me, return trips to Barbados are always special.. it is the land of my
birth, the land of my dad and the land of his mother, her family name, the Manning's
have been on the island since the 17th century.
So this trip, a visit to spend time with family and friends was indeed special.
We saw a game of polo, now the island has three polo fields, went swimming with the turtles on El Tigre, captained by my cousin Nick Knowles. el tigre cruises
New Year's Eve with old time friends was truly special, thank you
And spent an afternoon at the Crane... WOW!!!
As a youngster, sundays would often be spent on the Crane beach, most of the time in the sea.
The beach and vista remain but the "new" Crane is now present.
All in all, a wonderful trip, but many thanks must go to my sister Alison and husband, Steve, who very kindly let us stay with them for two weeks on the west coast of Barbados in January!
For the techs.
